Experiential Marketing Event

Looking for a unique marketing event to get high-value prospects to attend? One that is different, gets a high attendance rate, and has great potential for less expensive future add-on events?

People are hungry for interesting experiences and are curious about the topics they hear of in the news all the time – the Internet of Things, programming, Raspberry Pi computers, electronics (think Tesla and Ring door bells).

Offer them a fun opportunity to learn about several of these topics! For this structured event your company provides a Raspberry Pi Starter Kit that I have branded for your firm. With it comes a relaxed 90 minute group event where they assemble the system, followed by an introduction to electronics and programming. During this time they create a game using a few simple electronic components and some short Python scripts. It is possible to extend these to even be a full day event if desired.

If you aren’t familiar, a Raspberry Pi is a small and inexpensive single board computer designed to bridge the digital divide. Very powerful and very versatile, with a mystique that has many people curious to learn more in a friendly, safe, environment.

I custom brand the system for your firm. I also tailor it to your product to include a relevant demo at the conclusion when possible.

Benefits:

  • The event offers a unique experience to attract attendees.
  • It often fills to capacity within 2 hours of the first email blast being sent out.
  • It has a history of a 97% attendance rate.
  • This event targets high value prospects. Typically Director, VP and CxO* level or high income individuals.
  • Economical follow up events exist where you can send them a few other components and get them onto meetings for another marketing “drip.” This gets them watching for other emails from your firm.

You don’t need to be selling anything remotely related, as your potential customers are interested unique experiences on a multitude of topics. I initially developed and presented these for Fastly, an Enterprise-grade CDN and edge-compute service.

Details

  • It is structured as an “introductory” event that teaches basic electronics and programming.
  • Event can be virtual or in-person.
  • Can handle up to 50 live attendees in a virtual or live setting with minimal support.

Each attendee is sent:

  • A Raspberry Pi Complete Starter Kit that includes:
    • The Raspberry Pi
    • Branded case
    • Keyboard and mouse
    • Power adapter and video cable
    • Guidebook
  • A branded storage case to organize their kit.
  • A custom MicroSD card with a branded operating system.
  • A prototyping breadboard and small collection of electronic components.

These courses are completely introductory and “newbie” friendly. I frequently see attendees bring their kids, who often participate and learn along with the group. It is possible to design more complex events if you are in the automation, embedded or IoT space.

*CxO = CEO, CIO, CTO, CMO, COO etc.
